In order to carry out its various activities on the field, the Airavata Foudation needs to meet some important actors of Cambodia’s polical life.
His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni was the first major personnality to actively support the cause of the Cambodian elephant, even placing our foundation under His High Patronage !
Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath confirmed the commitment of the Royal Khmer Family in favour of the last pachyderms of the country by granting us the Very Great Honor of an audience at the Palace.
On the occasion of this audience, Her Majesty donated $ 20,000 to the foundation.
Her Excellency Hoeung Sakona, Minister of Culture, is very interested by Airavata’s approach aiming at keeping, preserving and even ressuscitating the age old Cambodian traditions surrounding the elephant.
His Excellency Mong Poï, Ratanakiri’s Provincial Governor, has assured Aïravata of his full support !
His Excellency Say Samal , Minister of Environnement, actively supports the foundation, he affirms that it is only through ecotourism that we can make our project a long lasting one and help the population to turn away from illegal logging.
Besides, Aïravata never hesitates to meet the general public in order to explain our approach and what is at stake.
Meeting with Mr Benjapol Narkprasert, director of the Thai Zoological Park Association and his team, to discuss a possible Thai – Khmer cooperation in elephant related domains.
